How To Play Roulette
The European roulette also known as the French Roulette was invented in France in the 17th century and is still one of the most popular games of chance in the casino. At a later period the roulette was introduced in America with a slight variation that contain and extra number 00. The Roulette wheel has a continues movement and contains the numbers from 0 to 36 in case of American roulette 0-00 to 36 in 3 colour variation red, black and green. The croupier or the casino dealer spins the ivory or plastic ball at a certain speed and when the ball loses its momentum it falls in one of the wheel pockets.

Numbers in the Sector – This is a German bet sometimes referred to as Zero Spiel. It is made on the zero and 6 of the numbers surrounding the zero. Clockwise along the wheel this bet is made up of the numbers 12, 35, 3, 26, 0, 32, 15.
Placement of the Chips – (Multiples of) 4 chips are bet. 1 chip is bet on 26, and the remaining 3 chips are divided between the splits 0/3, 12-15, and 32-35.
Voisins du zéro
Numbers in the Sector – This is a bet placed on the 17 numbers. The sector of the wheel designated by this bet runs from slot 22 up to and including slot 25. Clockwise along the wheel this sector is made up of the numbers 22,18,29,7,28,12, 35,3,26,0,32,15,19,4,21,2,25.
Placement of the Chips – (Multiples of) 9 chips are bet. 2 chips are placed on the trio 0,2,3. 2 chips on the 25/26/28/29 corner. The remaining 5 chips are divided equally over the splits 4/7, 12/15, 18/21, 19/22, and 32/35.
Numbers in the Sector – The Orphelins or Ophans are the two smaller pie slices left on the wheel between the Voisins du Zero and the Series 5/8. They comprise one sequence of three numbers (17,34,6) on one side of the wheel and five (1,20,14,31,9) on the other, making this a bet on 8 numbers.
Placement of the Chips – (Multiples of) 5 chips are bet. One chip is placed on the 1, and the remaining 4 chips are placed on the splits 6/9, 14/17, 17/20 and 31/34.

Numbers in the Sector – This bet is also known as Series 5/8. The bet is placed on 12 numbers, clockwise along the wheel these numbers are 27,13,36,11,30,8,23,10,5,24,16,33.
Placement of the Chips – (Multiples of) 6 chips are bet. Chips are equally divided over the splits 5/8, 10/11, 13/16, 23/24, 27/30, and 33/36.

Here’s all the different type of bets you can place on the European roulette table and the payout for each type of bet:
Straight up or Single bet is a single number bet. Staight up bet pays out 35:1.
Split bet is a single bet on 2 numbers that are adjoining either horizontal or vertical. The chip is place on the line between the selected numbers. A Split bet pays out 17:1.
Street is a single bet on 3 numbers on a horizontal line or in case the 0 is selected the bet is placed in between the line of the selected numbers. A street bet pays out 11:1
Corner is a quad or square type of bet, a selection of four numbers with a single bet. A corner bet/Quad bet pays out 8:1
Six line is a single bet on 2 adjoining lines where 6 numbers are selected. A sixline bet pays out 5:1
1 to 18 betting all the low numbers from 1 – 18 with a single bet. 1 to 18 bet pays out 1:1
19 to 36 all the high numbers from 19 – 50 with a single bet. 19 to 36 bet pays out 1:1
Red or black a bet on either or color. A bet on Red or Black pays out 1:1
Even or odd a bet on an even Zero is not included in the bet A bet on Even or Odd pays out 1:1
Dozen bets single bet on 12 numbers 1-12, 13-24, 25-36. A bet on any dozen pays out 2:1
Column bets payout 2:1
1st column 1, 4, 7, 10, 13, 16, 19, 22, 25, 28, 31, 34
