Best Poker Hands

What determines the best poker hands in a game is the situation the player’s in. Certain hands will always make sure a player stays on top but when two players have the same hand only one card can determine who wins a game. Poker is an exciting game which is why it’s played by millions of people all over the world. Casino sites even offer different versions of the game to keep their players entertained. The thing about poker is that it centers on having a combination of cards that outranks the cards in the other players’ hands. You can view the value of card combinations on poker hand rankings which most poker or casino sites have displayed.

Poker-chipsThe strongest combination of card or poker hand any poker player might have is the Royal Flush. The combination is always the same so you have to have A, K, Q, J and a 10 in any suit to get a Royal Flush. Another thing that’s important is that the cards be in the same suit so the previous combination wouldn’t be possible if one of the cards is a different suit. For example, if all cards are clubs you’ve got the Royal Flush, but if only one card is a diamond you don’t have a Royal Flush.

Straight Flush is the second most powerful poker hand a player can have. Similarly to the Royal Flush, to have a straight one you have to hold cards from the same suit, but they have to be in a sequence. For example, if you have 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 of hearts then you have a Straight Flush. If two players happen to have this hand than the player with the highest-ranking card wins.

The Four of a kind is the third-best poker hand. It can be beaten by a Royal or a Straight Flush, but it beats all the hands that rank under it. To have a Four of a kind you need to have four cards in one rank and a kicker, which is a card in another rank. For example, having an 8 in one rank and an A of clubs means that you have a Four of a kind. If two players have the same hand then the player with the highest kicker card wins the game.

The next poker hand in when it comes to ranking the poker hands is Full House. It’s a combination of three cards of the same rank and two cards of another rank. If two players have Full House then the player with the highest triplet wins, but if the triplets are the same then the person with the highest pair is victorious. These four poker hands could be considered the best hands in poker. Other hands that all players might come across are Flush, Straight, Three of a kind, Two Pair, One Pair, and High Card. If you happen to have a Full House, Four of a Kind, a Straight or Royal Flush then you can beat these hands but it all depends on how good you are at the game.
