Denmark like many other Countries decided to restrict online gambling activities and started controlling their own market within the e-gaming industry since 2010. The Danish Gambling Authority (Spillemyndigheden) has imposed high tax rates on online casino operator’s net revenue which can vary from 45% to 75%, depending on how high the net revenue is. We should state that Denmark does not tax players on their winnings. Since they impose such high taxes, not many online casinos has gone through the legislation process to accept the Danes. Denmark runs an online gambling website Danske Spil offering chance and skill games on which the Danish authorities controls the monopoly.
